A fire hydrant had deteriorated. We disconnected it from the main and replaced it with a new one, set on a concrete base.

New hydrant bolted to the flange, with reinforcing bars ready for the concrete base

What needed doing

The hydrant in the grounds had deteriorated and needed replacing.

What we did

We dug down to the connecting flange, took the old hydrant off and prepared the base with reinforcing bars.

Then we fitted the new hydrant to the flange and backfilled.

The result

The hydrant main has a sound hydrant in place again. Routine servicing of the fire equipment stays with whoever is contracted for it.
